1. High Resistance Chair Bands
This year I have a WIGGLY bunch of kids. I've tried everything; more movement breaks, standing desks, seat cushions. I was hesitant to try chair bands for their feet because in the past they have been so noisy and become a big distraction in class. Another coworker recommended this brand. We've been using them in my class for a few weeks now and so far I'm impressed! The kids are into them, they are durable and when used correctly, they aren't as noisy as I was expecting! I honestly do see a difference in my kids!
2. Expo Whiteboard Wipes
These are a game changer for student whiteboards and the classroom whiteboard! I also use the spray but honestly, using the wipes are so much easier.
3. Hot chips, Mad Fish, and Other Tales by Sue Marasciulo
Those who teach struggling readers knows how hard it is for them to find a "just right book". Especially in 3rd grade the students are into books like Dogman, Diary of a Wimpy Kid etc. However, the readers who are reading significantly below grade level struggle with those books. That's why when I saw a post that Sue Marasciulo wrote a graphic novel that is a decodable!! I introduced it to my students and it was a hit! I think she is writing a second book and I can't wait!
